History

· 1937 – Marine Workers Local 1 founded

· 1941 – Joined Canadian Labour Congress

· 1945 – Joined Marine Workers Federation

· 1996 – Joined Canadian Auto Workers (C.A.W.)

· 2013 – Joined Unifor

Today, we are proud members of Unifor, the largest private sector union in Canada. It was founded in 2013 as a merger of the Canadian Auto Workers and Communications, Energy and Paperworkers Sectors.
